Environmental Design

Ammar Khammash Architects have developed a methodology of approach based on integrated multi-disciplinary understanding of the landscape and its assets, interactions and potentials.

For the use in projects that are environmentally sustainable, our firm refers to data collected from a wide range of fields such as archaeology, geology, ecology and anthropology to construct a full picture of the landscape and direct the project design to become a component of the Total Landscape Management.

The firm has built a good database including a slide library of more than 30.000 slides of Jordan, with specific attention on rural and traditional architecture ( Notes on Village Architecture), and has prepared arrangements with other agencies such as The Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature R S C N for environmental and ecological issues.

Ammar Khammash Architects is finalizing the construction of a museum of the paleontology and geology of Jordan (pellamuseum.com) , privately owned by the firm and aiming to understand and explain in depth the Jordanian landscape and find ways of utilizing academic knowledge in those fields for credible sustainable development.

The museum also aims to serve as a forum for regional researches, scholars and amateur enthusiasts in the field of paleontology and geology as well as perform the task of outreach addressing the wider public, a task that has been not fulfilled by the regional academic institutions.
