Wadi Finan
A
small nature lodge at Wadi Finan, in the Jordan Rift Valley region of
Wadi Araba. The site is important being the lower entrance of the Dana
Nature Reserve, and surrounded by archaeologically rich landscape.
Wadi
Finan has remains of some of the worlds first archaeological sites of
metallurgy showing remains of major industry of Manganese smelting that
wants thrived in this valley.
The
lodge, 30 rooms, is designed according to studies of desert architecture
in arid landscapes. It uses ecologically shaped architectural elements
from traditional buildings in villages of Jordan, south Morocco and
Yeman. This design uses hybrid solutions based on the fusion of traditional
materials and structural systems with contemporary building requirement
and environmental design techniques.
