Museum
of King Abdallah /Ma'an
Renovation of the main building at the Hijazi
Railway station of 1910 to function as a history museum of the founding
of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and covering the history of Ma`an
region.
Services also included structural consolidation
and landscaping, interior design, exhibitions and showcase design.
Building represented a transition between traditional
architecture and western - inspired, industrialized - material architecture.
Assignment included research in history of the
building, revealing layers of decorative frescos in walls, and design
of surrounding facilities, additions and circulation.
